Men’s dream becomes a reality

A unique new advertising company has launched at Manvers with job opportunities.

Spotamo, the brainchild of three men from Goldthorpe, Rotherham and Barnsley, is a concept that allows retailers to advertise an offer through a 2D barcode, often known as a QR Code.

The free Spotamo app will scan the code and reveal the offer on a shopper’s mobile device. To take up the offer, the customer must share it through Facebook or Twitter, giving the retailer free advertising in return.

The three-man team, Chris Cooper, Carlo van de Watering and Edward Millen have, in thier own words, “worked like crazy” to develop their product over nine months.

Carlo said: “Our belief is that we are the only company in the UK that have developed this technology.”

The men are currently advertising for sales reps and hope to take on further staff as the company grows.
